Terms of Service

Effective August 12, 2026

Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Teks Family Compass. By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Purpose of the service

Teks Family Compass helps families coordinate events, activities, routines, tasks, notes, goals, reminders, permissions, shared resources, calendars, and related communications. Features may change as the service evolves.

Accounts and family workspaces

You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly report unauthorized use. Family Owners control workspace membership and may appoint Co-Admins. Users must respect assigned roles, visibility rules, and the privacy of other members.

You may not impersonate another person, bypass access controls, use another member’s account, or invite anyone without appropriate authority.

Children and guardians

A parent or legal guardian must authorize and supervise use by a child who cannot independently consent under applicable law. The responsible adult controls the child’s membership and permissions and is responsible for the child’s use of the service.

Your content and sharing

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, display, and transmit that content solely to operate and improve the service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share submitted content.

Content may be shared with individual family members, selected roles, or the family workspace according to your selections and administrative permissions. Once information is shared, recipients may see and act on it as their permissions allow.

Ownership, editing, and administration

Users generally may edit or delete only items they created. Owners and Co-Admins may have broader editing authority to coordinate and administer the family workspace. Owners may have broader deletion authority. Technical enforcement and available controls may vary by resource type.

Google Calendar and third-party services

Google Calendar connection is optional and currently provides read-only event access. Each user authorizes their own Google account and may disconnect it. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies, and their availability is not guaranteed by Teks Family Compass.

KORA

KORA is your AI-powered Family Coordinator and may summarize information, coordinate priorities, offer suggestions, and perform actions requested by an authorized user. KORA should operate within the permissions of the active user, but AI output can be incomplete or incorrect. Review important information and confirm consequential actions.

KORA is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, emergency, or child-safety advice. Do not rely on it for emergencies or decisions requiring a qualified professional.

Acceptable use

You may not use the service to violate law; harm, exploit, harass, or monitor another person improperly; upload malicious code; interfere with the service; probe security; evade permissions; scrape data; send spam; or store or distribute unlawful or infringing content.

Notifications and reminders

Notifications and reminders are convenience features and may be delayed, duplicated, or unavailable. Do not rely on the service as the only source for emergencies, medication, childcare handoffs, travel deadlines, or other safety-critical obligations.

Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, introduce limits, or perform maintenance. We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Disclaimer and limitation

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the extent permitted by law. We disclaim implied warranties where legally permitted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, or losses caused by third-party services, user sharing choices, or reliance on AI output or reminders.

Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate access for material violations, security threats, fraud, abuse, or legal requirements. You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion. Workspace access may also end when an authorized Owner removes a member.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated reasonably. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
