Privacy Policy
Effective August 12, 2026
About this policy
Teks Family Compass is a private family-management application for coordinating calendars, events, activities, routines, tasks, notes, goals, invitations, reminders, and family communications. This policy explains how information is collected, used, shared, and protected.
Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, profile image, authentication identifiers, family membership, assigned role, permissions, sign-in and audit events, presence status, device or browser information, and timestamps.
We store content you or authorized family members add, including activities, tasks, events, routines, notes, goals, reminders, sharing selections, invitations, notifications, and KORA conversation history.
Google Calendar data
If you connect Google Calendar, Teks Family Compass requests read-only access to calendar events so your personal Google events can appear alongside family activities. Each user connects their own account; one family member’s connection does not grant access to another member’s calendar.
We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising or sell it. You can disconnect it at any time. Google API information is handled in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, operate family workspaces, enforce roles and permissions, deliver reminders, display presence, support sharing, synchronize calendars, provide KORA assistance, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve the service.
KORA may use the active user’s authorized family context and conversation history to respond or perform requested actions. KORA must not exceed the signed-in user’s permissions.
Family sharing and visibility
Content visibility depends on the workspace, creator sharing choices, named recipients, selected roles, and administrative permissions. Workspace Owners and Co-Admins may have broader management access needed to operate the family workspace. Invite only trusted people and avoid adding unnecessary highly sensitive information.
Children and family accounts
A child or teen account should be created, invited, or supervised by a parent or legal guardian, who controls family membership and permissions and determines whether the service is appropriate. We do not knowingly sell children’s personal information or use it for behavioral advertising. A parent or guardian may request access, correction, or deletion.
Service providers and disclosure
Service providers may process information as needed to host the application, authenticate users, connect third-party services, deliver AI functionality, and maintain security and reliability. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, investigate misuse, enforce our terms, or complete a business transfer with appropriate protections.
Retention and deletion
We retain information while needed to provide the service, maintain security records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account or personal information. Limited records may remain where legally required or necessary for security and fraud prevention.
Security
We use access controls, role-based permissions, row-level protections, authenticated backend operations, and reasonable safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials private and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information. You may adjust sharing, disconnect Google Calendar, and manage family membership subject to role and legal requirements.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the application evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the application or another reasonable channel.
